These terms apply to your use of the Accel Education website and student portal, and to the tutoring services we provide. By enquiring with us, redeeming a signup code, or using the portal, you agree to these terms. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.
What Accel Education provides
Accel Education offers preparation for Victoria's Year 9 Selective Entry Exam, including live classes, workbooks and homework, timed practice, mock exams, and a student portal for resources and progress tracking. The exact classes, resources, and features available to a given student depend on their enrolment.
Trial classes
A free trial class is offered with no obligation. Requesting or attending a trial does not commit you to enrolling, and does not guarantee a place in the program.
Accounts and eligibility
The student portal is for enrolled families. Enrolled families receive a signup code that can be redeemed once to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that happens under your account. Portal accounts are intended to be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for their child's use of the portal.
Acceptable use
Access to the portal and its resources is provided for the personal use of the enrolled student only. You agree not to:
- share your account, or share, copy, resell, or redistribute our workbooks, questions, recordings, or other resources;
- attempt to access parts of the service you are not authorised to use, or interfere with its security or operation;
- use the service for anything unlawful, or in a way that disrupts other students.
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.
Intellectual property
All teaching materials provided through Accel Education, including workbooks, practice questions, mock exams, lesson recordings, and the Accel Education name and branding, are owned by Accel Education or its licensors. You are given a personal, non-transferable right to use them for the student's own preparation while enrolled. No other rights are granted.
Fees
Fees for enrolment, where they apply, are agreed with each family directly and are not set out on this website. Any payment terms will be made clear to you before you enrol.
No guarantee of results
We prepare students as well as we can, but selective entry is competitive and depends on many factors outside our control. We do not guarantee any particular exam score, ranking, or offer of a place at any school. Nothing on this website is a promise of a specific outcome.
Not affiliated with selective schools
Accel Education is independently operated. We are not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by any selective entry school or by the Victorian Department of Education, and we do not administer the exam.
Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep the portal available and its content accurate, but we provide it on an "as is" basis and may change, suspend, or withdraw parts of it. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from the service being unavailable or from reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have jurisdiction over any dispute.
