Teach the exam you already beat

We teach Year 7 and 8, preparing for the Year 9 selective entry exam. Weeknights and Saturdays, one to three classes a week. Online over Zoom, plus mock exam days in Ashwood. Every workbook, answer key and marking standard is already written.

What we look for

You can explain a wrong answer

Knowing the correct answer is not enough. You need to work out why a student chose a particular wrong answer and explain it to them clearly.

You sat this exam, or one like it

A selective entry offer, a strong scholarship result, or a high ATAR.

You are reliable

Classes are weekly and students notice when someone is missing. Turning up prepared is most of the job.

You want to be taught how to teach

Marking standards, feedback voice and lesson structure are written down here, and you will be held to them.

You do not need teaching experience.

What you get

The material is already built

Workbooks, homework, worked solutions and a tutor key, written and ready before you teach the class.

Marking is supported

A written marking standard, a rubric taken from ACER's own criteria, and tooling that handles the mechanical half.

Hours that fit around a degree

Weeknights and Saturdays, one to three classes a week, timetabled around your semester.

A say in how it runs

You will have a say in how classes run, and you will know the families you teach.

Apply

Three fields are required, the rest are optional, and there is no cover letter. If it looks like a fit we will set up a short chat. If it is not, we will tell you.

Which would you want to teach? (tick any)

A Victorian Working with Children Check is required before your first class. If you do not have one yet, apply anyway: it takes a few days and we will walk you through it.
